Whitethroat (Curruca communis) by Debbie Knight

This whitethroat was inspired by those that I hear in a nearby country lane, every April. A widespread summer visitor to the UK, the whitethroat can be spotted darting swiftly in and out of hedgerows, grassland and scrub. Part of the warbler family, it has pretty neutral tones of brown, grey & buff and with its prominent white throat, can be first heard singing its chattery song between April and July.
