This beautiful pendant has been created with precious metal silver clay paste (which after firing becomes fine silver) and a real rose leaf.
The quick explanation – the silver paste is painted on the leaf in layers, allowing it to completely dry between each layer, after some filing and sanding it is heated in the kiln. At this stage the leaf and the organic clay binder burn away, it then remains in the kiln at a constant heat for two hours. Once this stage is completed it is filed, sanded and polished leaving a beautiful fine silver replica of the rose leaf.
It is hung on an 18inch sterling silver chain, the leaf is approx. 2cms long.
All sterling silver is 100% recycled.
Precious metal silver clay is fine particles of silver clay mixed with an organic clay binder and water, once fired and the binder has burned away, you are left with fine silver.
Store away from direct sunlight and moisture and avoid wearing while swimming, showering, etc or them coming into direct contact with chemicals, such as perfume, household cleaning products, etc. All metals, particularly sterling silver and copper will tarnish, so they will benefit from a polish from time to time, some tarnish can add to a piece by adding depth and some people prefer, particularly copper with a less polished appearance.
