Sherds in Time – Part 2 Miniature

Inspired by fragments recovered while mudlarking in woodland, Sherds in Time (Part 2) captures the quiet poetry of forgotten history. This miniature painting arranges ceramic fragments—transferware sherd, Cornish striped pottery, and clay pipe stems—into a contemporary still life. Set within a circular, vintage metal frame, the piece bridges the gap between historical artefacts and social objects, inviting viewers to contemplate the lost stories preserved beneath the soil.
