We are very lucky to have a wildflower field next to our house. In summer it is filled with flowers and in winter the farmer leaves the plants to provide seeds for the birds. The goldfinches love sitting on the teasels picking at the seeds. This painting was inspired from seeing the morning sun light up the sky a soft pink and I captured views of the pink house up the road through the teasels. I really like the strong structure of the teasels with the softness and layers of all the different colours in the field.
