Dichroic Swallows on wire x7, in frame

Row of seven fused glass barn swallows standing on a wire that is slightly sagging under their weight, mounted in a white frame with a plain white background. The swallows are holding onto the 3mm stainless steel wire with 0.5mm nichrome (stainless wire) talons, secured in place with epoxy resin. The birds are the correct outline for the barn swallow but the bodies are made from a variety of colours and patterns of ‘dichroic’ fused glass; this is specialist glass to which a thin metallic film has been added to give a shiny lustre that subtly changes shade or colour when viewed from different angles.
