Welcome to our Art Gallery
Our gallery features landscapes, flowers, and animal portraits by local artists from Essex, Suffolk, and Cambridge. We offer orginal artwork and prints for all budgets. Visit us in Castle Hedingham to see the originals.
When you visit Wonky Wheel, you can expect more than just art on the wall. Alongside our changing exhibitions, you’ll find a welcoming, independent gallery space filled with original artwork and biographies of each artist. We also stock a carefully chosen range of gifts and homeware from brilliant makers. We love meeting the people behind the work, so keep an eye out for artist spotlights, new arrivals, and special events throughout the year.
Whether you’re popping in for inspiration, looking for a one-of-a-kind gift, or ready to take home something special, we’d love to see you in the gallery.
All Wrapped Up Exhibition Period
History Unearthed
Artists of the Month
Exhibition Period: October 13, 2026 → November 9, 2026
Kerrie Creighton is a UK-based artist whose paintings explore story, memory and our connection to the past. Working primarily with acrylic paint alongside mixed media, her work combines historical curiosity with a deep appreciation for place and discovery.
Many of Kerrie’s paintings are inspired by real locations she has visited and by objects she has found while mudlarking and metal detecting. These discoveries—often small fragments of everyday history—become starting points for paintings that connect past lives with the present moment.
Her work reflects a fascination with the way time, nature and human experience intertwine. Lost objects, quiet landscapes and historical echoes appear within her paintings, suggesting the lives and stories that once surrounded them. In many ways, the process mirrors the discoveries themselves: nature conceals objects for centuries and reveals them only when the time is right.
Through layered paint and texture, Kerrie’s work brings together past and present, inviting viewers to consider the journeys objects and places have taken. Her paintings celebrate the quiet stories held within the landscape and the powerful sense of connection that can emerge when fragments of history resurface.
As Artists of the Month, we’re hosting a Meet the Artists on 29th October from 11am to 3pm (this is during half term week)
All Wrapped Up celebrates the colour and cosiness of autumn and winter at Wonky Wheel. Discover seasonal artwork, thoughtful gift ideas and the stories behind our independent artists and makers.
